Yellow and red jasper bowl , ca 1600 probably Italian or French in gold mounts. The mounts have French marks. The marks are difficult to read but appear to be ca 1700. The bowl is of a shape / there is a “step” to strengthen the foot of the bowl/ typical of the early 1600. Plenty of similar examples are in the Louvre and other major collections.
The bowl is cracked.
