Early eighteenth century pendant with enamelled miniature and diamonds

ca 1740-60 Jacobite silver pendant / with later brooch fitting as well / with enamelled heart shaped portrait miniature of James Francis Edward Stuart, nicknamed “The Old Pretender “. James was brought uo in exile in France and on the death of his father in 1701 King Louis XIV recognised James as the right heir to the English, Irish and Scottish throne. James attempted to regain the throne three times, unsiccesfully, and died in exile in Italy in 1766. The two hearts forming around the brooch is set with diamonds and rubies
