Description
Ca 1050 Umayyad silver ring from Al Andalus. The bezel is engraved with Kufic script/Kufic is the oldest calligraphic form of the various Arabic scripts and consists of a modified form of the old Nabataean script. Kufic developed around the end of the 7th century in Kufa, Iraq, from which it takes its name/ The top of the ring is not cast ,but constructed . Size of the ring is “O” = US “7” + 1/4 Measurements of bezel 13 x 11 mm
