Ca 1630-40 gold ring with the initials of IHS/ “IHS” is sometimes interpreted as meaning Iesus Hominum Salvator (“Jesus, Savior of men” in Latin)
Early seventeenth century jewellery most of the times had religious representations.
Most probably Italian.
