Eighteenth century fire gilt silver perfume funnel, hallmarked Moscow 1737
The spout of the funnel is engraved with inventory marks of probably the Kremlin.
Normally these small funnels were part of a travelling set, together with mirror, chamber sticks, various bottles, and boxes and containers, all in silver and many times gilt. The richer and more important the owner the more lavish and extensive these sets tended to be.
This example is larger than normal in size, 5.5 cm
